Images You Upload
When you use our receipt scanning feature, you may capture or upload photos of grocery receipts. These images are processed by our AI service to extract item names and estimate expiration dates. Images are not stored permanently and are deleted after processing.
Grocery Data
We store the grocery items you add (item names, categories, expiration dates, and consumption/waste status) to provide the core functionality of the app, including expiration tracking, notifications, and savings statistics.
Usage Preferences
We collect your shopping frequency preference to personalize your experience.

4. AI Data Sharing and Processing
Important: When you scan a receipt or request recipe suggestions, your data is transmitted to and processed by Anthropic's Claude AI service, a third-party artificial intelligence provider.

- No personal account information is shared with Anthropic
Who Receives Your Data
Your data is sent to Anthropic, PBC, the company that operates Claude AI. Anthropic is based in San Francisco, California, USA.
How Your Data Is Used
- To parse receipt images and extract grocery item details
- To estimate expiration dates based on item type and category
- To generate recipe suggestions using your expiring ingredients
Anthropic's Data Protection

5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase - For authentication and data storage
- RevenueCat - For subscription management
- Apple App Store - For payment processing
- Expo - For push notification delivery

With your permission, SpoilProof sends local push notifications to remind you about items approaching their expiration dates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication via Apple Sign In. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account information and grocery data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded receipt images are processed and immediately deleted. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.
